Concept & Design

Idea Generation: Based on inspiration, trends, or specific customer requests.
Sketching: Initial sketches are made, either by hand or using digital design software.
CAD Modeling: A detailed digital 3D model is created using CAD software, allowing for precise dimensions and visualization.

Wax Modeling and 3D Printing

Wax Model Creation: Using a wax carving technique or 3D printing, a model of the jewelry is created. This model serves as a prototype for the final design.
Mold Creation: If the design is to be mass-produced, a mold of the wax model is made, usually with rubber, to allow for multiple casts.

Casting Process

Investment Casting: The wax model is attached to a “tree” structure and placed in a container. The container is filled with a plaster-like substance called “investment,” which hardens around the wax.
Burnout: The hardened investment is heated in a kiln, melting the wax and leaving a hollow cavity in the shape of the jewelry design.
Metal Pouring: Molten metal (such as gold, silver, or platinum) is poured into the hollow cavity. Once cooled, it solidifies into the jewelry’s basic form.

Filing

Piece Assembly: If the jewelry has multiple parts (like a ring setting and a shank), they are assembled together.
Soldering: Pieces are joined using heat and a metal alloy (solder). This process requires precision to maintain the jewelry’s integrity and design.

Stone Seat Preparation-Drilling & Burring

Filing: Excess metal is filed down, and rough edges are smoothed.
Pre-Polishing: The piece is polished to remove initial imperfections and bring out a basic shine.

Stone Setting

Gem Selection: The appropriate gemstones are selected based on the design specifications.
Setting Techniques: Depending on the design, different setting techniques (like prong, bezel, or pavé) are used to secure the stones in place.

Final Polishing & Plating

Polishing: The entire piece undergoes a detailed polishing process to achieve the desired finish and luster.
Rhodium Plating (if required): White gold jewelry is often plated with rhodium to enhance its color and add durability.

Quality Control

Inspection: The finished piece is carefully inspected for any defects, loose stones, or irregularities.
Testing: The jewelry is tested for quality, durability, and any required certifications (like purity for gold or diamond authenticity).
